My time management has always been poor and ineffective. Though many a time, i still try to tell myself i only have 24 hours a day and half of that goes into sleeping mode for my body. This is a typical lifestyle of a working adult be it in any country that you stay in, especially if you are staying in Asian countries. Countries like Japan and Hongkong have their citizens working like a madhouse and most of them have at least 2jobs. A day job and a part-time in order to feed a lifestyle which they are currently living. And so apart from having a full time job and a part time job, how are you maintaining that time which is next to nothing by giving all your time to your jobs (full time + part time)earning that extra cash.
How are your time divided to spending quality time with family, friends, love ones, pets and religion? I was once in this fix, trying to juggle from time to time, holding a part time job while still trying to live my life. At the end of the day, three revelations appeared to me, "No Time, No Money and Body Exhausted". I have no time at all to myself or to others, i was always postponing my appointments. There doesn't seem to be a increase of money in my bank account, as my expenses are also on the rise. With more money, the temptation goes up, you ended up spending more again, the never-ending rat race. My body was exhausted at the time when i reach home and part of me just want to go to bed.
Since then, i've been brainstorming on my time management and realized that my time has been spent working and especially in my part time job here. Once realizing this, i acted upon it and now have only one full time job but still with the ever increasing workload that i get from my office, there just seem to be no time for me at all. While browsing PRODUCTIVITY501 i come across numerous information and resources on how i can have a more productive time management and personal productivity thus improving my time management skills. Now i can spent more quality time and be more efficient in my work place and hence the saying goes one stone kills two birds applies for me here.
Two blogs which I come across, Working From A Suitcase , i love his illustration of how he completes or gets his work done at the end of the day, with his gadgets & alot of common sense. You too can organise your work area and get optimum productivity. Item 2 have me thinking that i should invest in a extra hard drive to store all my back-ups in case of my personal computer breaks down or my files hacked or infested with viruses. I too, travel alot where internet access is not available and hence with this wireless access point/tool where i can get connected, stay connected and be connected anytime of the day and place. With my travelling very often, i will need a travel adapter which can easily fit into any power plug sockets that each country will vary which in his working from a suitcase shares with his audiences. Now i am equipped with the best tools and work anywhere in the world.
The next blog i've come across is International Travel Tips . Here the blogs shares with you while travelling in any foreign country on things you should take note of. However, this list is not extensive and i believe there are more important things that should be covered. If visiting 3rd world country like Vietnam, one should be ever careful of the water/food you will be consuming as traveller. One should read up on the water/food hygiene before travelling to these foreign land. Medicine is also the number one item which you should bring along with you. Items like panadol, diarrhea tablets etc just in case you have a bad wave of stomachaches or headaches while you are travelling will be a nuisance to you. Travel Insurance is also a must. Although credit cards do cover you to a certain extent, buy one from your local travel agent which covers you on loss of baggages, medical/dental bills and other incidentals as covered by your insurance providers. The saying goes be prepared then be sorry as there are cases where in certain countries, the hospital will require that you quote your travel insurance policy before you can be treated as medical bills can soar quite high these days...
Nevertheless, there are more covered in PRODUCTIVITY501 so be sure to subscribe to them as subsription is free where you get first hand news & most updated information on this website.
