Its rustic, old and authentic place with little pubs, tea houses, boutique shops selling knick and knacks. It was really a treasure to find this place and i've been there twice myself.
I like such places where one can just roam around but not get lost at all. Lots of tourist there as well, taking photos here and there. We took a rest at this little chocolate house where they serve very nice chocolate biscuits and chocolate drinks to quench ones thirst and the best thing, smack rite in the middle of all the excitement.
I think i can sit there all day and watch people pass by. Time seems to fly by very fast when one is there, busy admiring the little boutique shops, art galleries & CD shops and many more there.
Next, this place where i been is also worth my recommendations. Its a little book store cum coffee or tea house where you can relax those tired muscles and take a sip of hot tea or coffee. Worth a try if you'll like read a book and drink a cuppa. Actually, you can see this many little tea houses along Shaoxing Rd. Just see which one you took fancy and see if they serve tea or coffee...
If i were there again in Shanghai, i will definitely go to this place again..
By the way, its near Jianguo Rd, if you are taking the taxi. Enjoy the pixs...
