Birthday Celebrations at Tarafuku Japanese Buffet 313 Somerset

It brings me great joy especially when it comes to eating Japanese food. I just love those Japanese prepared food, their sauce, ingredients, meat, fish, etc... just can't resist them at all! So when my frens suggested to have a birthday celebration over at Tarafuku Japanese Buffet, i readily agreed....:P

Buffet line of fresh sashimi, all kinds of popular sushi, udon noodles, fried crispy soft shell crab, salads, loads of desserts and even a small steamboat pot for a table is set for your group. With the waiter coming around to fill up the pot for your steamboat, you'll just concentrate getting the food to your own table and cooking the way that you like them to be. So, its Japanese style Steamboat if you prefer it to be, although the variety for the steamboat is not much, the basics like vegetables, meat, prawns are all there, we especially like the abalone mushroom, tastes really nice in the steamboat broth and after cooking for some time, taste the broth, its sweet like anything. I think the main difference from the normal steamboat is that its made of Japanese clear soup for the steamboat broth, if you know what i'm talking about.

Desserts were aplenty, some of us had green tea ice-cream, cakes and etc... We had our fill tonight over at this restaurant and we were happy that we booked it in advance, as there was a queue forming just to come and enjoy the food here. This time round, we have 14 of us and luckily we booked in advance and i did it for the group as my office was kinda near by.

Next, we proceeded to this pub called the "Alley Bar" just next to Centrepoint. If you want a place to chill, talk, laugh and get-together, this is the place to be. I like the atmosphere here, although, it can be quiet noisy at times. We sang our birthday song here to the birthday gal and luckily, we bought just a slice of the cheese cake for her as all of us were already full and couldn't take in any food at all for now.. Ordered a drink for all of us and round about 11pm, we said our goodbyes and left the place.

More Birthday celebrations to come from AUG till DEC, there goes a big hole in my pocket....

Sleeping Beauty Movie

I was with 2 of my male frens and we were bored with shopping down Orchard just before the sale and decided to take a peek at what was showing down at Shaw Leisure Cinemas. We thought to ourselves that this was the epic movie that everyone was talking about the Snow White and the Huntsman and we quickly bought it thinking to ourselves, we got some very good movie up our sleeves.

But hell no, it was about a certain girl whom was down in her luck with her boyfriend dead from a illness, got chased out of house, got sacked from work and finally landed into a job that she thought was ok, but far from it...

So if you want to know about the ending, go and rent the movie yourself! PS - loads of sex leading scenes, got to watch out for it...:P

Halo Tote Bag

Today, i was shopping along Millenia Walk and decided to pay Mr Anthony of HALO a visit. I wanted something that i can carry like a tote and since HALO has all its leather products maybe they will carry what i wanted. I saw a few of them but i didn't like them. At last, Anthony draw out something that was laying on the chair still wrapped in plastic for its tote handle. He unwrapped it and showed me the tote bag, it was still made in its leather calf, this time round. I think it was a love at first sight, i like its texture and feel, still soft and supple to the touch, the only thing i'm afraid is that if it touches water, the colour will seep into my clothes. Anthony therefore reassured me that it has been processed and it shouldn't at all! I trusted Anthony and decided to give HALO product a try. The reason being that i had similar bags and the colours when i ran in the rain seeped into my white shirt, hence, i was abit skeptical, i think i'll trust HALO and give it a test of time and try the product out!

Anthony was still the same as ever, chatty and witty. He immediately recognized me when i stepped into the HALO shop at Millenia, he told me he saw my blog when he was looking thru' the web, he was quite curious and happy to learn that his bags were being circulated and talked about in the web. I was quite surprised myself as well that he bothered to read my blog, i asked him back whether the blog's message was accurate and if not, i could amend it. He said it was okay! I was quite happy that someone endorsed my blog and especially, it was from the owner itself. I saw my earlier bag in another colour displayed in his shop when i was there, it was in a deeper leather colour. I asked him and he said that he got it from the shop down at 111 Somerset. It isn't a wholly HALO shop as it carries other brands and some jewellery as well and i heard was managed by his wife. Hence, i told him, i'll be heading to Orchard and wishes to pay that shop a visit but Anthony told me it was closed on Sunday. Someday, i may visit that shop or maybe tomorrow....:P

Clarke and Subic Philippines

I was onboard this fam trip with my other colleagues from different travel agencies to this place in Philippines called Clarke and Subic. At first i was abit skeptical and didn't like the idea of traveling there as i thought there wouldn't be any night life or shopping or sightseeing at all and boy was i wrong. There is trekking, themeparks to visit, seasports for those whom loves the sea and sand. And if you talk about shopping, there is plenty of duty free shops, a SM mall and a sort of like a Carrefour mall where you can get everything under one roof.

And talking about night life, i enjoyed myself very much at the night life in Clarke and Subic as well. The band which we had was awesome and we enjoyed a few sets before we left for the day or should i say wee hours in the morning. The band sang songs which we knew and hence we sang along with them as well! We even went down the dance floor and danced to the rythme as well. Back at Subic, the night life was good too, but i think i enjoyed the one at Clarke better with the live bands playing and singing and entertaining us.

During the day, we went on hotel inspections, different hotels have different feels to them all, but i think we all love the Light House Hotel, Subic Bay, Philippines. The hotels down at the area has only the most 4th level high unlike the ones that we usually see! The Light House Hotel has a light house as well and i think that light house serves as a pub to entertain its inhouse guest. The ambience is good and the hotel also hosted our dinner there as well, it was a BBQ of some meat, salad, fruit, pastas and pastries. We all had a good dinner and came back very satisfied with nice pictures taken as well. The beach was just a stones throw away and we took some very beautiful shots there too!

Oh, before i forget, there are spas and massages around as well, so if you have been out the whole day and you want a relaxing good time, go down to the spas in the hotel or outside and we got them for Peso of 300 per person and the exchange rate was S$1 - $3.2peso. Hence, it was really cheap and satisfying, i had a whole body massage - swedish type which was equally good. Food in Clarke and Subic was good as well, there was even a chinese restaurant too, cooked by a Hong Kong Chef. As its a American Naval base before, hence the restaurants are really very americanised, of course, there are the Fast Food Chain, like Mac Donalds and their local Fast Food - Jollybee, a local fast food chain which the Philipinas enjoyed very much, i heard they will be opening one in Lucky Plaza in the near future. I should think that since the Philipinas crowded Lucky Plaza, this place will surely be a great hit amongst them.

I think i did a good job giving you all a snapshot of what to expect in Clarke and Subic, and if you really go there, you can book your airtickets thru' Airphil Express. We took this Low Cost Carrier which flew to Clarke in about 3hours and we fly out in during mid-night 12.20am, this is my only complain about their timings, but what i really like about this flight is that they offered to all their passengers - a 10kg luggage allowance, which i appreciated it. Other than that, we were given the 1st few rows and i happen to sit at the cockpit front or very first row which if you booked online, you have to pay extra for that, if you need extra leg space, book and pay abit extra. Thru' the flight, the air stewardess will also wheel their trolley down the aisle and sell food, drinks and also souvenirs as well!

Halo Bags from Britain

I got this bag while i was shopping unintentionally at Millenia Walk opposite Suntec City for those of you not very sure where this place is situated. I was down for a birthday celebration at one of those German Restaurant that served quite nice Pig Trotters and sausages as well. But before i was due for the celebration, i had sneaked out to the above shopping mall to sniff out some good shopping to reward myself of the hard work which i've put in during last week doing the fair over at Expo burning my weekend away!

The owner Mr Anthony was a nice fellow told me all about the Halo Bags and that they are actually pieces which are not more than $600/- for really good calf leather products. He taught and shared with me some tips on how to take care of our leather bags and as per what he said, because of our weather here, our leather bags get mouldy over time, hence, to get those leather shine which has anti-mouldy function that can help your leather bags to stay like they used to be, just like when you bought them from the store. Anthony further explains the origins of Halo Bags and how they process their own leather calf products into nice finishes which are really authentic and nice, the bag that i bought has a really nice texture to it, soft and supple is the word for the touch of my bag that i bought. Nice to know that they are all from Britain as i seldom support local products made in Singapore. I like the camel colour of my bag which is these season's in colour to have, just like clothes which i have in this colour as well! Hence, i decided to go for this bag which cost me at around $500 sin dollars, i had a certain discount as i paid thru' my UOB credit card which Anthony told me it will be launched tomorrow but since i'm here, he'll just let me have the discount, what a nice guy rite?

Anthony himself also owns a Halo Bag and he showed me his which was a nice darker brown tote bag. Did you know that actually there was a certain personnel whom was spotting carrying this brand of Halo Bags and claim that he only carries Halo Bags and not others. Anthony told me this guy actually collects bags of all kinds and brands and usually, he keeps his bags in containers and preserves his bags. He was in the page of the newspaper and Anthony showed to me, i think it was a good advertisement to this brand of bags and i hope his business thrives...Good Luck!

Anyway, if i really like my bag, i'll definitely promote them to my frens and might go down another day to buy another one back home...:P To tell you the truth, the shop wasn't very big and its situated on the 2nd level of Millenia Walk, quite easy to locate, its not difficult. I myself are very fond of leather products and since i saw them, i couldn't miss out the chance to take a closer look and admire them. Halo Bags comes in many sizes and different models as well, one thing i've notice is that they have rather big bags and so if your a fan of big leather bags, do come by and drop them a visit, Anthony would be glad to serve you. And they are really cheap, less than $600 and you get to own beautiful carved calf leather bags, flown from Britain, where to find such bargain, but here at his shop, do a google search, you'll also find his shop address as well. I'm loving my Halo Bag already...:P

My Samsung Galaxy Note

Hi Everyone, i've decided to move on on my mobile phone purchase and rather than getting back on the Iphone, i've decided to go for the famous Samsung Galaxy Note which everyone has been rambling about on recent. Although, i must say that its much bigger and oversized compared with my Iphone which you can see the illustration above. Its really a smart phone or features i guess that everyone goes for here. I'm a Iphone user before and also a Ipad user as well, so i decided to move on to the Android and see if there is anything that i had missed out and i also have best of both worlds. The shop that i went to sign a mobile contract with was a 2 years contract and the difference between the Samsung Galaxy Note and the Iphone 4S was like a few dollars different. And so i decided to try the Samsung Galaxy for a change. Although, i must say i just cannot say whether i like it or not, i'm still trying to get myself used to the fact i'm holding and using a much bigger handphone set now, bigger than the Iphone 4 which i used to have. At first, i did felt strange holding on to a such a bigger handset just like talking to a calculator. My frens asked me to use the handsfree for talking...lol. Still i'm getting used to the Samsung Galaxy Note, my android phone and hope that one day, i'll get used to using it. However, somethings which i must say is that i like the wallpaper feature. They have rather cool wallpaper features which i like or should i say live wallpaper. Its kinda cool, live wallpapers moving inside your android phone. One can download from the apps store and then start using very cool and live wallpapers but there is one problem when using this kind of wallpaper as it drains your HP's battery pretty much! I guess this applies to all kind of apps or games which you install in your handphone. This difference is something i don't see on the Iphone 4, i must admit that...lol. Other than that, one can purchase any accessories to go with it just like any Iphone accessories you can see on the market. For me, i get to enjoy both what the Android Market and Iphone Market has to offer me as i have the Ipad 2 with me. Now, i'm thinking of selling my Iphone 4 away and hoping to fetch a good price for it. When i was buying my Samsung Galaxy Note, i passed by a store down at Lucky Plaza, quite a good salesman i must say, he invited me to view his product and actually, i also wanted to get a handphone cover for my new Galaxy Note. I bought a nice red cover for my Note and a screen protector which both cost me S$50. I asked whether they will take in my Iphone 4 and he said will give me S$380 but i wasn't ready by then to release my Iphone then, i'll try again other stores to take back my Iphone. Okay, that much of my rambling....See Ya...:P

Sentosa Fun

I got complimentary tickets to the Sentosa Island. I had about 6 tickets and i invited my frens to come along with me. We had much much fun although it rained in on us in the afternoon. I think i enjoyed most is the Skyline and Luge although again, we didn't had time to take the Skyline, we thoroughly enjoyed our ride on the luge. The route down was fun, it was a few turns before we can reach the bottom. The curves were very sharp but it added the edge and fun into the whole ride down.

In order to run away from the rain, we hide in Macs. Had a nice little snack and drinks as well. The rain lasted about an hour and it was a nice relief to just sit and relax and wait. Finally the rain was over and we went over to take the tram which ran from our point around the other points and then back again to waste our 1hr before we were due to watch our Songs of the Sea which was at 8.40pm.

This was my first time watching this live Songs of the Sea. It was a performance with a song and dance item and some phyrotechnic lights playing in the background. I kinda like the performance, the singing was nice and the whole story line was good as well, bravo to the team.

At last, we pop over to the nearby beach restaurant for our dinner. The waiters didn't give me a good impression and you got to go down to the cashier, order and pay up. However, food was okay, not fantastic, we ate and we left this place.

All in all, it was a nice short one day trip and lucky for us we had this complimentary tickets, coz it really cost us a bomb if we didn't have the tickets. Anyway, thanks to Sentosa...

Birthday Celebration for my dear Fren David Chan

We had a blast on Friday Night, did a birthday celebration for my fren David Chan down at Crystal Jade Restaurant and this time round, we had it at Holland Village. If one is going for some chilling time, nice restaurant, good food, normally one will think of this place. Very accessible now by MRT, one can take the circle line which stops right in the heart of Holland V.

If you want to do some grocery shopping, there is the cold storage as well and if you still want more, there is another 2 level of shopping just above the cold storage. Personally, i've done a few shopping items there including my pet parrot was bought over the pet shop on the 3rd level. I like the Lim's furniture place, i bought a few pieces there though as well.

Of course, needless to say, there are plenty of high end restaurants to your hearts desire, ice cream, snacks, sushi, loads of good food, you name it, there will be for you. I don't mind traveling over there although for me, its out of place, but usually, i'll ride my bike there so transportation is taken care for me. Lastly, for those party freaks, this is the place to go! Plenty of pubs lay along the streets and you can hop pubs if you like...:P

So if you don't have a place to bring your frens, love ones, come over to Holland V.

The Lorax Movie

My frens and i went over to JB again. This time round, one of my frens wanted to repair her specs and hence, we went in again. After that we had dinner over at the local Hongkong Cafe Restaurant and shop abit before we went for our show - "The Lorax".

The show is about trying to save those trees and when one of the guy went chopping the trees, the "Lorax" appeared or you can safely say the tree keeper. The Lorax is there to protect the trees should they fall into harm sake, however when the guy's business succeeded, he got his whole family down to support him cutting down the trees and making more products out of the tree.

At the end of the day, every tree were chopped and the whole land became a ghost town until this little boy came and saved the day! He took back the seed of the tree and planted it in the town square, however, it was thru' some struggles before the little boy managed to plant the tree.

I guess the message behind this is lets save our environment, already the ozone layer has a hole in it, lets try to GO GREEN, lets try and stop cutting those trees down and making more paper. Do your part, recycle those papers today!

Birthday Celebration for Alex Yong at Hard Rock Cafe Singapore

It was yet another birthday celebration for one of my frens back in my ex-company. This time round, we did it at Hard Rock Cafe, first time for us to do such a event and i think everybody enjoyed ourselves. The staff at Hard Rock Cafe also helped to make this event of ours a success and hence, a big THANK YOU to you guys as well, you guys rock!

A first time that our birthday boy has to stand on a chair to blow his cake and this was i guess the tradition for birthday boys adn gals celebrating their birthdays here. We saw a couple of them celebrating the same and hence, we thought it will be the same for our birthday boy here.

Cosfest Feb 2012

Me was at taking shoots during a Cosplay exhibition last Saturday, above are just some of my humble shots that i took! Kudos to the cosplay participants, they were so cooperative and willing to let the many photographers to take a picture of them even when they are tired and feeling hot in this climate with this costume and make up on them.

I took 2 lenses with me, my Canon 50mm and 17-55mm. I regretted that i didn't bring along my flash and my trusty 70-200 prime lens, f4 with me this time round. This was my first time taking such shots of cosplay participants parading with their costume and make up on. Although, i've really wanted to take some during the past year but was too busy. Am very happy that i finally had the chance to do that. I arrived at about 1pm while waiting for my friends to turn up. Already almost all the cosplay participants were there and entering the exhibition hall down at downtown east. Free admission to all, so if you're interested in cosplay, come on down here, it happens tomorrow which is Sunday here as well!

And like i said, i had a jolly good time photographying all the participants, except was thinking that i should have brought my other lens and flash to the site. Nevermind, i decided that i will give it one more try tomorrow Sunday with my 70-200mm lens and perhaps with my flash as well. Good, that i give in all my energy and time and take some good photos during this period, have been too long my 70-200 lens been sitting in my dry cabinet, its time to do its job. I saw what this lens can do when my frens took them with theirs and hence, i must give it a try, i'll give a field report again..

MBS morning sunrise shoot

I joined a photography session which i signed up online to the Merlion Park last Saturday. I had to wake up at 5am and i took my bike and arrive there slightly later than 6am. I parked around Funan Digitalmall area and made my way to the Merlion Park. I met up the group and i shot some pictures. Its some time now since i was here taking the MBS shots and i think its my first time here taking a early sunrise shot.

There was a few characters trying to take the sunrise shots as well. After that, we left and ended up at Macs for our breakfast. It was a nice feeling to recap my skills again to take the sunrise shots. I hope i can do more in future...:P

Batam Team Building, here i come...

I was invited to participate in a team building exercise organised by my company last saturday. We went to Batam which was near us and stayed at the Golden View Hotel for one night. It was a short 2D/1N stay, reason being that we can bond together thru' the activities that was organised by the hotel itself. Day 1 - when we arrived at Batam, we were given the fast lane, instead of queuing with the rest of the passengers, we were then taken to the house of Kueh Lapis, its very nice indeed and it was sold for a box at $25 sin dollars, even my mum said it was nice, hence it was a good choice that i bought it back to SIN.

We had our lunch at the Golden Prawn 933 restaurant, which was very near to our hotel which was a stones throw away. We walked back to our hotel and in the noon time, we got ready for our team building exercise. We had loads of fun, bonding and developing that friendship that wasn't there, i guess for me, it did happen for me, i get to know some of them closer, i guess!

In the night, we were suppose to have a skit where everybody was suppose to come out and perform but everyone of us were tired and hence, we cancelled on that. But we had our night entertainment - KTV. We sang to our hearts content, we had some good singers though and we were entertained the entire night till around 1 or 2 in the morning.

The next day, we got ready and checked out and we went for a traditional indonesian massage, by then, we were ready to board our ferry back to SIN, thanks to my company for this lovely trip!

Porter Bag of Joy 2012 Dragon Year

Hi Everyone, heres wishing everyone a prosperous Dragon Lunar New Year 2012!

As usual, i went visiting my close frens, sad to hear from my god-sister that her mum might not be able to live till the end of the year, coz her kidney is failing her. The family has not announced to her yet for the dialysis and i hope that she will take it and go for the dialysis which will help prolong her life.

That said, i took leave for the 3rd day of CNY just to finish off all my visitation, just 2 days aren't enough for me... This year was especially good for me i think, i made new frens and i hope that our relationship will grow.

I got a email from Porter International that i could come and claim my Bag of Joy at a discounted price of $158. I was quite happy i had the chance to go down, until i wasn't able to sleep at all the night before. Finally, the morning arrived and i left the house and got there by 8am. I saw some Porter fans walking around, coz they were also carrying the Porter bags with them as well, so it was quite easy for me to recognize them.

But i guess they thought no one will come so early to queue, so i was no 1 in the line, by 9.30am, the queue was a long one and i was quite happy i was there early. The bags arrived in boxes and the sales staff were busy packing them onto the shelf, which you can see at the picture above. When the time came, each time 5 customers were allowed to enter, choose and buy. The bag itself is locked and hence, you can only feel the item inside it. I guess the fun is here, you don't know what is inside them and you go by your gut feelings of what will be inside and pray hard that its something you can use and like,

This year Porter International Singapore gave some hints in the social network facebook and hence, i was able to quickly choose mine and left the premises. I did a quick feel of the bag which i was going to purchase and for luck, it was the No. 1 bag of joy! I kinda went with my gut feeling of what is inside it and since its the CNY period i think, No. 1 bag of joy should be a very good buy for me. And it turn out to be a real gem for me, it was a messenger black Porter Bag which i have yet to see this model here sold in Singapore. So that is a plus point since it can't be seen in Singapore, its black in colour, nice for a guy, a messenger bag in the Porter brand wasn't something that is in my collection and so i welcome it into my Porter family of bags in my closet.

I too posted my buys up into facebook and i saw others posting theirs as well. Some like what they got while others didn't, that is what i saw. Hence, i guess they are exchanging with one another on the facebook as well. I want to say a big Thank You - Porter Singapore and i hope i can participate in next year's Bag of Joy as well!

Courageous Movie

You do heal but You'll never be the same...

This movie is a must to see! It carries the christian message that every earthly father should be a model to their families, take care of them, nurture their kids, teach them the way of the Lord and provide for them as well. How many broken families are around this part of the world, where kids are left to their own devices and strife for their livehood. Or even single mothers looking after their children and yet have to found the means to support their families.

Kids that survives from that, has two ways to live out their lives, one is that they grow up to be a mature and responsible guy just like in the movie of the black guy's life or the extreme, where they grow up being gangsters or mobs and destroy other people's lifes.

I was greatly encouraged while watching this movie, i was really moved, i was really glad that i didn't make the trip up to Bidor with my frens whom i would love to go with but stayed back to watch this movie and have fellowship with my brethens in Christ. I think there is a greater purpose in this that i don't see it now but in time to come, i'll be able to witness it.

Although, i must say, my relationship with my fren is abit strain now becoz i didn't go with them and i think they are my best frens around the trade. But i dun know, i feel like more of a use to them than being a REAL fren to them, now becoz i'm useful to them, they treat me like a fren but i'm thinking what if i'm out of the trade, will they still treat me like a fren again!

Nevertheless, if it meant to be that way, i cannot force it but let nature takes its course. I really need to enlarge my circle of frens.

I like how she dresses her male counterparts. Its smooth and so relaxed and just wondering are people just born like that, they just come with this ability to match and the visual taste to me is awesome...

I'm so poor in coordinating my clothes, which colour to go with which, i guess i'll have to see and try out and i'll know in time what colour suits me and what doesn't....:P

Its the year 2012

When i look back at 2011, it seems like it was a flash. I made new friends, got a new career switch which was a big thing in my life and i hope it'll go well in 2012.

How did you spent your 2011, was it a flash just like me. I know this year will be a good break for me in the month of Oct, as i finish my instalment on behalf of my dad which i was carrying for a few years now! It all happened when we decided to call it quits as he wasn't able to handle the monthly instalments as there wasn't a demand for it if i'm not wrong, decided to sell it back to the firm and pay every monthly the balance of the lorry. Decided to take over this burden from my dad since he is already old and till now. Again, it was like a flash, i'm happy that its ending this year, i could take some of that money and do something about it and maybe i can give some $$$ to my mum as well!

For me, i've grown older by a year now, i'm 40 years.... Alot of people tell me its just a number, its whats inside of you counts. I really don't know, can anyone tell me? I just hope that this year will be smooth sailing, everyone in my family, healthy and strong. That is the most common thing that people will ask for and i think i'm just a common person...

For chinese, we will be celebrating the CNY which is coming along the corner now. If i've been with my previous company, we'll be speculating when we'll get our AWS and so forth... Now in this new company, i don't know whether i'll get my pro-rated AWS as i've joined them since 01Jun 2011. Well, if it comes, it will be a bonus for me, if it doesn't then forget it and move on, just that this CNY i'll have to eat less and use less thats all...:P

I'm like a typical chinese guy worrying about my family, my career and since my dog passed away last year, my commitment is on my darling parrot now. Mark is still as naughty as ever, likes to bite the papers and make them a mess and i'm now feeding him dried stuff which the shop owners said its suppose to be good for their internal system. But one thing, i must complain, its their poo which can be quite smelly most of the time.

Since CNY is down the corner, every family will be throwing away stuff and preparing for the new year to come. Me too, i'll be doing my own housekeeping in my own room and finish them before the CNY comes...

Ok, thats my rambling, i'd better get started on my spring cleaning...

Maeklong Station Railway Market & Floating Market Bangkok

My frens and i went to Bangkok for the New Year Countdown. And of course, we took this opportunity to shop till we drop as well. I didn't know Platinium Mall was that nice to shop in on level 4. So if you're a guy and you love shopping, better pop yourself up at Platinium Mall at level 4 for some shopping frenzy. I spent at about S$800++ for this trip but hotel accommodation was taken care of, so that is one amount i could use and spend on. The exchange rate was pretty favourable to SIN dollars and hence, clothes there was damn cheap.. All in all, i bought about 10 over pieces of long sleeve shirts, pants and bermudas as well, on average, the shirts was about $10 dollars and it was that cheap!

Other than shopping and more shopping, we went on a tour on our 2nd day in Bangkok. Went to Maeklong Station Railway market near the Authentic Floating Market. You can see alot of foreigners there waiting to take a pix of the locals keeping their produces when the train is coming their way. It is very unique and i think this is the only one you can see here in Bangkok that keeps such tradition here. I must say it was a eye opener for me, seeing the owners keeping their produces and then bringing them out once the train leaves. And its not once a day, its a few times a day, i think it has become a routine for the locals here, that they didn't feel anything at all for now.

Next, we went over to the nearby floating market, this i've been already but since my other 2 frens have not been there, i followed them. All seems the same to me as before when i visited them a few years ago.

Find your local travel agents for the above tours, it really worth the money and you can't find this in Singapore as well!

Xmas was a nice affair

Mine was a nice affair this X'mas. I celebrated with my good frens and my Christian family as well. There was always plenty of eating, drinking and merrying as well. Me and my frens went to Holland Village for a X'mas Eve celebration, you don't have a big crowd like those in Orchard where its mountain of people struggling to get here and there. We decided to have our little celebration down at HV for a night out and fun with one another.

We wanted to try Time-out, but it was very full and hence, we decided to try Tango. But before that, we had our dinner at one of those nice little boutique Mexican restaurant down the lane. You can just eat your dinner and then party away just down the lane, thats what i like, efficient and nice, don't have to walk or take a cab to get to another place!

All in all, we spent aboiut $60 ++ for our dinner and then we went over next door which was NYC, very nice atmosphere and nice attentive staff as well, we ordered three cakes to share and each a ice-tea as well which was selling at $1/- ea. We ate, laugh, chatted and at last decided to head out and back to our Tango place for a nice drink before we head back home. By then, people were filling in and luckily, we had a table for us. We ordered some really hot tango chicken wings and each got ourselves a pint of Hoegarden beer to celebrate the oncoming of X'mas. At last, X'mas came and like all others did our CHEERS...!

On X'mas day, i celebrated it with my christian families, we had service, prayer meeting and then makan and then gift exchange. We had Pizzas ordered this year and 10 boxes as much as that, it was finished as well! Finally, it was our gift exchange, i got a nice box of biscuits this year... In the night, my fren organised a makan session at her place at Bukit Batok. I drove my bike there and arrived at around 7pm. She fed us with Bak Kut Tea and although it wasn't very strong for the taste, it was quite alright. Thanks for my frens this year celebrating with me!

Porter International Tote Dark Blue

Merry X'mas Everybody here on the world wide web....

X'mas is tomorrow and everybody around me is quite excited as they rush here and there, trying to buy their last minute X'mas presents for their love ones and etc... For me, we've already done that, eaten our Turkey and Ham and opened my presents as well... I guess its a time of sharing and giving rather than receiving it, this year is my first year with my new company and the lady boss was quite generous, gave us each a ang bao or red packet of $20 each. First time, i received a $20 ang bao during X'mas, nice...

The group of us went to see the Movie : Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol, this movie really keeps you in suspense, especially in Dubai where Nathan was forced to get out and climb the highest hotel there to achieve their mission. Nice Movie, must watch if you haven't, folks!

Tomorrow will be another celebration, this time round with my Christian families. We are gonna eat, drink and be merry. And of course, gift exchange!

I again went to the Wisma Atria outlet and bought this Tote Dark Blue for a X'mas present for myself. I think i'm a crazy Porter Fan, i told the sales girl, i seem to have all their collection now... Be it a sling bag, haversack or a Tote....:P This tote has a very big space compartment inside it, i usually bring alot of things out so this bag is very handy and useful to me! You know what's in my bag: A Espirit umbrella, my Burberry Wallet, Ipad 2, Taiga Louis Vuitton Key pouch, sweater, soul earpiece and lastly my Iphone... So there you have it, all my accessories that i need to bring out these days! There are a few small compartments inside as well, i use those to keep my smaller pieces of accessories like my Taiga LV key pouch, my iphone and etc...

MRT Singapore unpredictable like the weather!

Aiyo, you cannot imagine how frustrated i was! I think all those trapped down in the tunnel's fate was worse than mine, having trapped underneath for an hour without air-con and total darkness, really sent those creeps down your spine. I was intending to travel from Bugis MRT to Orchard for an evening appointment, when i was at the train station, the officers at the train station displayed the sign that the service has stopped for that particular line and hence, i was forced to take the public bus into Orchard. What a disappointment again when i encountered the bus queueing up behind each other again along the whole stretch of Orchard road. It was like crawling at every bus stop, i guess everybody was going onto the buses to get to their destination and hence the delay.

After that Thursday, i then heard again the MRT lines being delayed again a few times. Now i really dread taking the MRT and then again, there is the MRT fare hikes, how is it gonna prove and justify that its worth every penny of the consumers to pay and take the MRT. At least, i think the service of the circle lines aren't affected that badly.

Today, i'm gonna give the MRT a chance again and take it, i hope it'll be alright, i couldn't take my motorbike as it was raining heavily these days, i had to dorn on my rain coat to get out riding, lazy to do that.... rather take the train and be done with it.

My pre-X'mas BBQ at the Pasir Ris was a fun one, it rained heavily as well yesterday, but we celebrated it with a blast and it was fun, meeting old frens and getting re-aquainted again... Lucky for us, the rain stopped just in time and we were able to enjoy a cool evening BBQing.. Had our gift exchange as well, i had a multiple changing pen, it came with blue, red and a mechanical pencil all in one. But the red colour pen wasn't working well, the ink doesn't flow out and not smooth as well....:(

Okay, i shall end my post here....:P

Porter International Backpack

I remember that i told myself never to get or into backpacks again, but here i am, eating back my words and into backpacks again...:P

Its this deep blue porter backpack that has stolen my heart once more. I like it because its versatile coz when you are buying stuff you can still use the side short handles to hold it and when your tired, you can change it to a backpack and hence, quite versatile, i like these kind of bags... inside its roomy hence i'm planning to bring it down for my bangkok trip and India trip next year, i think it can contain all my beloved things in one bag and i'll just carry another smaller bag to put my passports, wallet etc...

The porter boutique shop at Wisma Atria only came in 2 bags and hence, this was the last piece available on the shelf, i checked the quality and bought it. It was a whopping $419 sin dollars, but i think its worth every penny, considering the nice workmanship of the bag and craftsmanship as well. I just hope its lasting...

Okay, another porter bag added into my collection, boy am i a Porter Fans....:P

Soul by Ludacris L49 Earphones

I just bought this Soul by Ludacris. SL49. This is the other model of their series or should i say the cheaper model that i got, i knew i wanted to have a set of better earphones and i was eyeing the monster beats edition, but they didn't have stock and so i bought this instead.

Happy that i had this earphone although the only setback was that it was in black... but its okay, i'll live with it...:P
